Welcome to Echoes & Stories—a watercolour love letter to the spaces we inhabit and the souls who bring them to life.

In this evocative collection, artist Preeti Bhatnagar captures the many moods of a world in motion: women carrying water vessels home, friends in vibrant saris sharing laughter, a decorated camel standing proud against distant mountains. She paints the grandeur of heritage too: the iconic gateway of Sikandra with its marble minarets reaching skyward, the legendary stone chariot of Hampi, a fort silhouetted against a star-scattered sky. And she finds poetry in the ordinary—a scooter parked in a lane, traffic flowing through an ancient gateway, a street dog keeping faithful company.

Every month unfolds a new chapter. Marvel at the brushwork that transforms watercolour into windows: windows into lives lived fully, moments caught mid-breath, and monuments that have stood witness across generations.

And because great stories deserve to grow, every artwork is printed on tree-free, upcycled cotton scrap plantable seed paper, embedded with seeds of flowers, vegetables, and herbs. When a month ends, its story doesn't have to. Simply tear the page, soak it overnight, and nestle it under a thin layer of soil mixed with cocopeat. Water it with patience, nurture it with sunlight, and let new life bloom from old tales.

About the Artist

Preeti Bhatnagar hails from Agra and currently works as an environmental consultant in Stockholm. An architect with a passion for sustainable and alternative building methods, she has devoted her professional life to bamboo and earthen construction. Beyond her vocation, Preeti's artistic explorations—especially in watercolour—have brought balance and harmony to her life.

Known online as 'Samanilai'—a Tamil word meaning 'Balance'—this alias reflects her personal journey toward equilibrium, a perspective she found in the serene town of Auroville, Tamil Nadu. Through her art, Preeti invites us all to discover the subtle beauty in every corner of the world—and the stories waiting to be told in every face we meet and every place we visit.
